Liver Cleanse Juice



Cleansing your liver is a very important part of staying healthy. As you may know I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver 2
years ago and I was told I had 6 months to live.

Well I am still here, and feeling healthy as ever.

I am not saying it has been an easy ride, but with a few little sacrifices in my diet, I feel great.

The first sacrifice was salt, well more to the point sodium. This is where most of the food you and I get a lot of it’s flavour
from. And you lways here the chef’s on TV saying things like, “oh it needs more salt” or “this is fntastic, it’s sweet, sour, it
has a little crunch and it has a salty tang” etc.

Well that salty tang is not good for you or your liver. But it does taste great.

I have already mentioned the Himalania Reduced Sodium Himalayan Pink Salt Mix


Which kept me on track with eating the right foods, as without it or other substitutes, then food just becomes really boring, and
it looses a lot of flavour.

The other main thing I use is Turmeric, I use it in almost everything. One of my favorite dinners is:

My Recipe

One small chicken breast
4 or 5 Asparagus spears, cleaned and peeled.
A handfull of broccoli flourettes or cauliflour flouretes.

Marinade the chicken in a table spoon of olive or grapeseed oil with a half a teaspoon of turmeric, and a small pinch of the
Himalayan Pink Salt Mix (above), leave marinating for 30 minutews or so.

Then pan fry or grill the chicken until cooked all the way through.

Boil or steam the asparagus and broccoli/cauliflour, or both.

Put on a plate and eat.
I do change the protien when I am bored of chicken, you can use white fish, I recommend Snapper or Cod, or pork fillet, not chops,
unless you trim all of the fat off and cook it off the bone.

Anyway this is supposed to be about Liver Cleansing Juices.

So here are a couple that I make and drink to help cleanse my liver.

Liver Cleanse Juice

2 Carrots
1 Orange
1 Apple
1 Beet Root
1/2 a Lemon
Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Liver Detox Green Smoothie:
2 oranges, peeled
1/2 rib celery
1 lemon, peeled
1/2 cup dandelion greens (or other bitter green)
1/2 cup parsley
Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Fruity Liver Cleanse

1 Apple
1 Beet Root
1 Orange
1 Sweet Potato
2 Carrots
Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

There are lots of other liver cleanse juice recipes available, but they all follow the same ingredients:
Beet Root
Oranges
Apples
Carrots

You can add a little lemon juice or some sweet potato or some Cruciferous vegetables, like cauliflower, cabbage, garden cress, bok
choy, broccoli or brussels sprouts to give the juice some extra flavour. But it is best to experiment and find the right mix for
your taste buds.
